Description

Christophe Colomb (MEIronsse, Columbus, Christopher Columbus, Christoph Columbus, Cristobal Colon, Cristoforo Colombo )

Meilland, France, 1991 The introduction of this rose was timed to mark the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s voyage to America in 1492. The flowers are bright red, with a yellow accent on the reverse of the petals, 13 cm in diameter. The petals are very broad. The flowers have the classic hybrid tea rose form, but usually appear in clusters of 3–7 blooms, rarely singly. The foliage is large, glossy and dark green. The bush is very vigorous, 80 cm high.
