General information
‘Sugar CANDY ROSE®’ (with the variety name Meiconfiz) is a compact, low-growing shrub rose – it belongs to the floribunda or shrub rose group.
The flowers start with a bright orange colouring and gradually change to salmon pink (“candy pink”) and a lighter pink shade.
Plant size approximately 40 × 40 cm.
A dense shrub, suitable for both flower beds and containers on a balcony or terrace.
Characterised by very good disease resistance.
Growing conditions
Location:
Full sun or light partial shade. In a sunny location, the flower colours will be more intense.
Soil – well-drained, humus-rich/fertile; avoid prolonged moisture build-up around the roots.
Planting and care:
Best planted in early spring or autumn – depending on the climate.
Pruning: carry out regular rejuvenation pruning in spring; remove spent flowers regularly to encourage further blooming.
Watering: water regularly during drier periods, but avoid excessive moisture or standing water.
Fertilising: regular feeding with a special rose fertiliser is recommended from spring until منتصف summer.
Blooming and visual effect
Blooms from summer (June) until the first frosts — providing long-lasting colour through the season.
Flower clusters form densely, and the flowers are visible throughout the shrub, creating a “colour fire” effect.
Leaves are dark green and glossy — aesthetically contrasting well with the flowers.
Other characteristics / advantages
Suitable for smaller gardens, balconies and containers thanks to its compact habit.
A good choice for landscaping where a long-lasting flowering effect is needed with minimal care.
Excellent disease resistance – a major advantage in rose growing.
A wonderfully colourful flower that starts in an orange tone and gradually turns pink — especially visually appealing.
Is it suitable for the Latvian climate?
Yes — considering that the variety is described as hardy and suitable even for less than ideal conditions, it would also be an interesting choice for a Latvian garden.
